Pregelatinised starch is modified starch, starch is partially or completely broken by chemical or mechanical methods. It is often used as a binder, diluent and disintegrator in tablets. The pre-gummed starch has self-lubricating effect, and magnesium stearate should be added as lubricant when used with other auxiliary materials.
